Atlanta's Next Top Model, Cycle 7

Atlanta's Next Top Model Cycle 7: High Fashion is the seventh season of Atlanta's Next Top Model. It continues to air on VTV. The series premiered on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

The permanent judging panel has changed again with Kora Preobrazhensky, Taylor Vanderburgliesse, and Reiden "Rul" Lassen all leaving. Eva Kourkouva is the only judge who reprises her position, but is not the host. The new host is Takuya Yanasagi (ex-supermodel in Japan, executive producer and filmmaker, and host of her own talk show in Japan). We welcome Annete Quinterro to the judging panel (the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Atlanta, which the winner will receive the cover and spread in) and George Cortina (prominent and highly acclaimed fashion editor and stylist) as well.

The winner will receive: a 1-year contract with IMG Model Management; a cover and 8-page spread within Vogue Atlanta, a cover of Vogue Nippon shot by Terry Richardson; $50 000; and the exclusive chance to appear in the Chanel F/W (Haute Couture) 2011/12 show. The runner-up will receive $25 000.

Contestants eligible in the contest must be at least 5'8" in height. The age limit is now 16 to 25. Contestants should not have appeared in any major national or international campaigns and/or ads in the last 3 years. There are no weight restrictions this cycle. 16 finalists will compete, once again.

This cycle's overseas international fashion destination is Tokyo, Japan.

The promotional tag line/motto for this cycle is simply "High Fashion".

The final 2 contestants will once again make it to a live finale where the audience and general public may vote for the winner (it will once again be a 50% audience vote and 10% per judge vote). The girls will walk in Atlantan Fashion Week 2011 where their walks will be critiqued during the live finale.

In the end, ___________ was crowned the seventh Atlanta's Next Top Model on ________, _______, __, 2011.

Weekly Synopses

CASTING,

  • 35 model hopeful women vie to compete for the title of Atlanta's Next Top Model in its most high fashion cycle yet. The prizes are amazing. The potential is amazing. The drama is even better.

The series begins with superimposed images of high fashion magazine covers like Vogue, Fashion, Allure, Flare, Numero, Elle, V, and Harper's Bazaar Magazine. Takuya Yanasagi introduces herself via a narrator voice-over while videos of top fashion supermodels around the world (Coco Rocha, Eniko Mihalik, Frida Gustavsson, Jourdan Dunn, Freja Beha, Sasha Pivovarova, Agyness Deyn and Joan Smalls) all work the runway. She then begins to show audition tapes with bad model hopefuls walking horribly, with a sudden music change, and asks "But which one of these girls has what it takes to be the NEXT top model?" The screen fades to black and the title "Atlanta's Next Top Model, Cycle 7: High Fashion" comes onto the screen. A group of girls stand outside a make-belief model management office, HF Models in a studio/warehouse downtown Rein. The group of girls enter and see that there is nothing in the big empty warehouse. They murmur amongst each other. Illena complains jokingly that she didn't fly all the way here and leave her rich life to compete on some bogus reality show. Twins Tara & Sara start to make a knock-knock joke loudly to ease up the tension. The girls find them entertaining. All of a sudden, the lights turn off, and when they come back on, the girls hear footsteps. Eva Kourkouva stomps out into the empty room with 3 other people stomping behind her. She introduces herself once again to those who don't know her and says "You can all relax now!" with good intentions. She introduces Takuya Yanasagi to the girls and tells them that she will be the new host and permanent judge. Joining the two include George Cortina, huge fashion name, having many girls squealing in the pack, much to the judges' content. And also, last but not least, is also Annete Quinterro, editor-in-chief of Vogue Atlanta, in which the winner will receive a spread within and also the cover. Takuya explains the prizes that the winner will receive (and also runner-up), leading to the girls' drives and emotions skyrocketing. The girls are all very excited to get to know each other and to work already. Leah Marie and Nica already have sore feet. Anya has one of the most high fashion faces in the pack but lacks confidence. The girls get together in the next room to take model polaroids. Some of the girls have natural talent, others don't. Coring is back with a vengeance and wishes to be a part of this special cycle. Qahira talks bad about the contestants while they do their shoot and the word quickly passes on that she is annoying and two-faced. Sai approaches her when she hears that Qahira called her "boring and fat". Lorelei is a spoiled girl and buds heads with Illena. Stephane and Eris share a moment together as they pray for good measures. Jainen is very educated and is a gifted student. Being 16 and already doing her first year of undergraduate studies, she wishes to concentrate on the tasks at hand and not let any of the drama distract her. Evgenia has very big personality. At dinner, the girls share their backgrounds with each other. It is revealed that Mihalek is Roscja's baby stepsister. Mihalek was nicknamed after Eniko Mihalik and wishes to be a part of the house with her stepsister. A few girls pick up on and make fun of Li's accent. Li proves to be a strong girl and does not seem to be too affected by the girls poking fun at her, yet. Ann, Rojm, Ana and Grenly befriend one another as they are all among the tallest in the pack (6'0"+). The photos have been printed. Takuya invites all the girls back to the empty warehouse where there are 24 mannequins. Behind each mannequin is one polaroid shot. The girls must locate their polaroids on the back of the mannequins. If they cannot find their photo, they are to immediately leave the studio warehouse with their belongings. Later that night, Sabrina throws a fit in her hotel room and leaves the competition. The judges reveal later that they had their eyes set on Sabrina making it very far, if she didn't quit. Tahlie tries to ease up the anxiety and tension by rounding up all the girls to one room where they can all have a few drinks that night. Many of the girls are still underrage and Tahlie is worried that she may be eliminated because of her idea. She insists that those under 18 should drink soda instead. Lorelei doesn't listen and drinks some vodka. Veronique grabs the drink out of her hand and tells her she should listen to her elders. Lorelei and Veronique fight. The girls all return to their rooms. The next day, they are all brought back to the warehouse where they see tables and tables and props, hair, and make-up. They then know that it'll be a self-styled photo shoot. The catch is - they do not know what they are modeling for - as the clothes are in the next room. They must style themselves and dress themselves after for an impromptu avant-garde self-styled photo shoot, which will determine who will make it into the Top 16 (the House finalists). Many of the girls go for an over-the-top mix-and-match look once they hear "avant-garde". Li and Jainen go for a natural, soft look, that is versatile and easy to work with. Eris has no idea how to do her hair. Tara & Sara do each others' looks for good measure. Blysse is overtly sexual with her styling. Finally, the girls all see racks and racks and racks of clothes in the next room and everybody is in disbelief. They are all bikinis. The girls start stripping and run through the room naked searching and searching for the perfect bikini that will match their styling. The girls line up to have their photos taken. The girls who are not in line yet believe they have more time to look for the perfect bikini. Takuya comes out to tell them that the last 2 girls will not be able to do the photo shoot and will be automatically eliminated. Quickly, the girls start forming a line. Tara & Sara are the last two as they wait for each other to get in line but instead happen to be the last 2. They go home. Quickly, the judges see who has model potential and who doesn't. Rojm picks up a broomstick as a prop and rips her bikini into shreds having a disheveled and "homeless" look. Li looks like a swimsuit model. Sai looks like she's taking a dump but her styling is good. Blysse looks like a naughty nurse, which is not the type of thing the judges are looking for. The next day, the girls all check-out of the hotel and are invited into the grand ballroom, wearing elegant dresses by Alexandre Vauthier and styling done by xreativsolutions (Creative Solutions). 21 girls stand before the four judges. Each judge reads 4 names. The models in their bracket represent each corresponding judges' personal favourites. Eva begins with Evgenia, followed by Ann. Then Lorelei was called, much to the girls' disbelief. Deidra was last. Annete calls Mihalek first, followed by Roscja. Then Coring is called, followed by Eris. George calls Tahlie first. Then Li. Followed by Sai. Last, but not least is Qahira. Takuya calls Stephane first. Then Grenly. Rojm is called penultimately. The girls all shake in fear and tears ensue as Takuya breathes to say the last name. Jainen.

WEEK 1,

  • The judges dig deep under the new cast of models' skins to see who can handle the pressure and who cannot. The girls drown in each others' potential in the competition. Tyra Banks guest judges.
